Emily de Molly - Oceanic Forces Swatch

After a bit of hiatus due to a wedding, surgery, and many other things, I am back! I couldn't wait to show my new beauty off!

Recently, a friend of mine, Deb, got me a bottle of Emily de Molly Oceanic Forces, which I had been drooling after for quite some time. I absolutely love it!

Oceanic Forces is a deep green/teal crelly with different sized hexes of teal and large teal circle glitters.

The polish went on smoothly and I did not need to use undies to make it opaque. It is a richly pigmented crelly that allows opaqueness while still showing off the gorgeous glitters inside! My only issue with the polish was that I had to do a little fishing for the large circle glitters, but it was well worth the effort!

For this swatch, I used two coats of Oceanic Forces, one coat of Gelous, and one coat of HK Girl top coat to finish it off.

By the way, Gelous is great for smoothing out polishes with chunky glitter or getting that squishy gel manicure look with any polish!

As always, thank you for reading! I hope to see you around again soon! <3

Milani Twinkle Swatch

Hello again everyone! Today, I have another pretty glitter polish to share with you!

Today, I have Milani Twinkle. This is a clear polish chock full of purple and blue glitter. The blue glitter is a bit larger, but they seem well balanced.

In this first photo, I have the polish swatched without any top coat.

The index and ring fingers are shown with 1 coat of Twinkle. The middle and pink fingers are shown with 2 coats of Twinkle.

For the second photo, I used 1 coat of Seche Vite on each nail.

I am very glad I swatched this over white! I absolutely love how the ring finger turned out!

Thank you very much for reading!

Sinful Colors Fantasy Swatch

Hello again everyone! I have another pretty polish to share with you today!

Sinful Colors has been coming out with quite a few new polishes lately and I want on a bit of a haul when Walgreen's put them on sale for 99 cents! I always wait for these sales to get this brand because they seem to happen often.

The polish I have today is called Fantasy. It is a glitter polish consisting of fine silver glitter and small hexes of multiple colors. It has a party-ish feel to it and it is super sparkly!

In this first picture, the index (one coat) and middle (two coats) fingers are Fantasy by itself. The ring (one coat) and pinky (two coats) fingers are on top of Essie I Am Strong. This picture was taken with no top coat.

This next picture was taken after two coats of Seche Vite top coat.

I really love this polish! I am sure it would look gorgeous of many different colors! I will definitely be keeping this in my collection!

Thank you very much for reading! I hope to see you again soon!

Orly Androgynie Swatch

Today I thought I would try out a higher cost brand of polish I am sure we are all familiar with, Orly.

I picked up this bottle because I love polishes that are chock full of glitter! This polish does seem to have an issue with the glitter settling, so you have to shake it up before use if you want any glitter.

This polish consists of a black creme base with small silver and gold glitter and medium hexes of muted green, blue, silver, and peach.

Take a look at the bottle shot. Most of the glitter has sunk to the bottom while some pieces are floating around the middle. The top is almost void of glitter.

Even with this settling problem, I was determined to try it out! Here is a shot of one coat, which did not give full coverage, but that is to be expected with polishes like this!

At this point, I knew that it would look pretty with another coat! Here is two coats.

After two coats, the polish had some texture to it due to the glitters. This was easily fixed with a generous helping of Seche Vite!

Last, but not least, here is the end result after two coats of Seche Vite!

I think this polish is very pretty and I would definitely recommend it!

Thank you very much for reading and I hope to see you again!

New Star Candy Polishes!

I have recently released two new polishes and I couldn't wait to share!

First, we have Milky Way. This is a deep blue jelly polish with fine silver and blue glitter, gold hexes, and silver holographic shreds. Its inspiration, of course, is the beautiful galaxy we call home!

Let's start off with the label photo!

My wonderful friend Krista designed the labels! I can't thank her enough!

Next, let's see how the polish looks in the bottle!

Last, and most important, let's see how it looks swatched!

I really thought that it turned out well, especially over white or black undies!

Here is a clearer shot over black undies.

Next, let's move on to the second new polish, Smaug! This polish was inspired by the dragon from one of my favorite books, The Hobbit. He is the red dragon that takes over the Dwarven mountain and boy does he love gold! He lays around on it so much that his belly is encrusted with gold!

So, for this polish, it is a red jelly base with small red squares, gold dots and gold shimmer to represent the treasure, and large silver hexes to represent the Arkenstone.

Here is the label shot!

Now, the polish in the bottle shot!

And, of course, the swatches!

Both of these polishes are available in full 15ml size and a 5ml mini size! If you would like to take a look at my shop, please visit Star Candy Polish. You can also look at my shop through my Facebook page, http://www.facebook.com/StarCandyNails

Thank you very much for reading and I hope you visit again soon!

My Shop is Now OPEN!

Great news, everyone! I have successfully mixed, bottled, and stocked my first hand made polish! I can't even begin to say how excited I am about this!

First, I would like to show you what the polish looks like in the bottle!

Here is the back view so you can see the polish better!

Of course, I didn't forget to swatch my little beauty!

I also took a better picture of the polish with black undies because I though it looked so nice!

Jordana Purple Punch

Hello again everyone! I was glad to see that everyone was so pleased with my first swatch, so I though it would be a good idea to do another!

I have another lesser known brand called Jordana that I only just began seeing in my local grocery store. It runs about $3 per bottle and has a nice formula. I would rate it along the same lines as Sally Hansen.

The polish I have today is Jordana Purple Punch I really adore this shade of purple that comes out with a creme finish.

This is one coat, which does not come put completely opaque, but the polish does dry rather fast, so I did not have to wait long to put on a second coat. It applies very smoothly!

This is two coats of Purple Punch with one coat of Seche Vite. I certainly apologize I forgot to take a picture before the top coat, but I can tell you that it did have a nice gloss by itself.

I would readily recommend this brand to anyone who loves polish! They make many other shades and also make glitter polishes, which I hope to get my hands on soon! I will be sure to swatch any more that I can get!

Thanks again for reading!
