Emily de Molly - Oceanic Forces Swatch

After a bit of hiatus due to a wedding, surgery, and many other things, I am back! I couldn't wait to show my new beauty off!

Recently, a friend of mine, Deb, got me a bottle of Emily de Molly Oceanic Forces, which I had been drooling after for quite some time. I absolutely love it!

Oceanic Forces is a deep green/teal crelly with different sized hexes of teal and large teal circle glitters.

The polish went on smoothly and I did not need to use undies to make it opaque. It is a richly pigmented crelly that allows opaqueness while still showing off the gorgeous glitters inside! My only issue with the polish was that I had to do a little fishing for the large circle glitters, but it was well worth the effort!

For this swatch, I used two coats of Oceanic Forces, one coat of Gelous, and one coat of HK Girl top coat to finish it off.

By the way, Gelous is great for smoothing out polishes with chunky glitter or getting that squishy gel manicure look with any polish!

As always, thank you for reading! I hope to see you around again soon! <3

Pure Ice Kissing Cupid Swatch

It has been a while since I have been able to make a post, but I am back! I thought I would start back up with something simple. Why not do a red?

Today, I have Pure Ice Kissing Cupid. It is a deep, wine red jelly polish. The application is smooth, as it should be with a jelly, but the coverage isn't always consistent. I would definitely recommend it for a jelly sandwich!

For the swatch, I applied two coats of Kissing Cupid and topped it off with a coat of Seche Vite.

Overall, I do like this polish and it is a great jelly for the price.

If you have any requests or suggestions for a swatch, please send me an email at starcandynails@gmail.com! I'd love to hear from you!

Thank you again for reading! I hope to see you again soon!

Color Club Gift of Sparkle Swatch

I am so happy that I got a new lightbox! I could hardly wait to use it once it was delivered! I hope you all like the better quality photos!

Today, I have Color Club Gift of Sparkle. It came in a package of four mini polishes from Sally Beauty Supply around Christmas. This polish is a blue foil that covers the entire nail in one coat. It is scented, like the others in the four-pack, and smells delicious! I can't quite tell what it is supposed to be, but it reminds me of nutmeg or hot chocolate.

For the first picture, I have one coat on all nails and no top coat. It is rather shiny on it's own, but doesn't last long without a top coat.

For the second photo, I used Seche Vite on two nails and NYC Madly Matte on the other two. I love to see glitters and foils mattified! I think this polish is gorgeous, whichever type of top coat you use! The extra good thing about this one is that it can be used any time, not just around the holidays! Gotta love those blues!

Thank you so much for reading! I hope you enjoyed this swatch!

Introducing Orion and Dark Matter!

I am proud to present my two newest creations, Orion and Dark Matter! I am so pumped about these!

Dark Matter is a black jelly with two sizes of dark blue hexes and matte blue hearts! This would look GORGEOUS in a jelly sandwich or with many different undies!

Orion is a hunter green crelly with various shapes and sizes of holographic gold glitter! It is opaque when layered, but would also be great for layering with other polishes!

I am just brimming with excitement about these polishes! I hope everyone likes them as much as I do!

Thank you again for reading! If you would like to purchase either of these in mini or full size, please check out my shop at http://starcandypolish.storenvy.com

Star Candy Polish Ponyville collection release!

I apologize for the delay of this post. I've been under the weather since the initial release. I figured later was better than never!

Now to introduce my first collection, Ponyville! These polishes are based on the main characters from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.

First off, here is the main collection! This includes the 6 main ponies and the princess!

Now let's take a look at them one at a time! I'll go from left to right based off of the collection picture.

First, we'll look at Sonic Rainboom! I think we can all guess who this cool pony is! This one is a glitter bomb consisting of a mix of rainbow hexes and shreds as well as medium white hexes to resemble the clounds on her cutie mark. It looks great on top of a variety of "undies"!

Next, we have Yay! which is a light yellow creme base filled with pink holographic butterflies and small, light blue hexes. Just as soft and sweet as this kind pony! This polish requires no undies!

Next up, we have our wranglin' pony, Kicks McGee! This is a light orange creme base with fine dandelion yellow glitter, brown hexes, red hexes, and green bar glitter. Down to earth, yet still sparkly! No undies needed!

Next on the roster is our magical pony, Egghead Sparkle! This polish is a navy blue crelly base with large purple holographic dots, small silver holographic glitter, small white stars, and fine pink glitter. This one may require undies.

Next, we have one of my personal favorites, Party Cannon! If you ever need a fun mani in one bottle, this is the pony for you! This consists of a bright pink crelly base, fine silver holographic glitter, large purple dots, aqua hexes, and sunshine yellow hexes. Undies may be required.

Next, we have our fabulous, generous pony who is, indeed, A Very Important Pony! This polish consists of a white crelly base, red holographic hearts, fine silver holographic hexes, purple squares, and light blue diamonds. Undies suggested. I recommend white!

Last, and certainly not least, we have Royal Alicorn! This polish consists of a light blue creme base, silver holographic glitter, and hearts, stars, and shreds of pastel pink, purple, and blue. Befitting of a princess! No undies needed!

Of course, I couldn't stop at just the main characters! There are more ponies we all love! In addition to this collection, I have made a special polish called Save Derpy Doo! This one is a light gray crelly base with white and yellow hexes. I made this polish in effort to get the word out that they are trying to remove this pony from the show and that her name has been altered. They even attempted to "fix" her eyes. Originally, this pony was called Derpy Hooves, but they renamed her Ditzy Doo. Many fans have settled on the name Derpy Doo! So let's save her!

There may be more ponies to come!

I would like to give a shout out and BIG thanks to my wonderful friends who helped make this happen! Barbara, Zazzy, Elan, Lani, Courtney, and many others! I couldn't have done it without you!
